The Zienkiewicz Centre for Computational Engineering (ZC2E) in the College of Engineering at Swansea University is acknowledged internationally as a European leading centre for computational engineering research.
In the last UK Research Assessment Exercise (RAE 2008), the Civil and Computational Engineering Centre (C2EC) was ranked second overall in the UK, with 95% of academic staff producing world-leading or internationally excellent research.
The Centre, with over 150 academics and researchers, has attracted research income over £30M in the last five years, and has an annual rate of over 6 publications per year per staff member. The C2EC has been designated a Centre of Excellence in Technology and Innovation (CETIC) to develop, support and enhance links with industry and counts with a completion rate of 10 doctoral theses per year.
