Introduction
This workshop aims to establish a stable seminar series on "Theoretical and Computational Modelling in Mechanobiology" in Barcelona and its surroundings. This region is becoming very active in this topic and related ones such as biophysics, biomechanics, with groups with diverse backgrounds in physics, mathematics, scientific computing and engineering. The field being highly interdisciplinary, theoretical details are often simplified to make the work accessible widely, which has positive and negative effects. The establishment of a forum focusing on theory and computation, but open to anyone, could be useful to discuss our research with more depth, establish collaborations, train students and postdocs, and gather a critical mass to provide a rewarding experience to international speakers (a full room, an interesting Meetings of discussions, etc.).
