RESEARCH

My expertise is in the physics of living structures, from organs to the molecular aspects going through the cellular scale. In particular, I am interested in the theoretical and computational modeling. My goal is to understand the basic aspects of living tissue in physiology and predict the response of tissues during disease and morphogenesis. Our modeling approaches cover analytical models and advance numerical methods.

I am focused on the modeling of growth and remodeling in the cardiovascular system under mechanical and chemical stimuli. My work is also focused on how these changes are transmitted along the different scale of the tissue. More recently, I am particularly focused on the mechanical and chemical description of the smaller scales of biological tissue. I am particularly focused on cell mechanics, from proteins interaction, single cell mechanics and the behavior of cell clusters.
