Abstract:
In this article, we give a second order, in space and time, finite difference scheme for the linear Korteweg-de Vries equation (KdV) on bounded domains. Using this method, a numerical model for the boundary controllability of linear Korteweg-de Vries equation by means of the Hilbert Uniqueness Method (HUM) is proposed. In particular, it is found that the solution of the control problem lies on the piecewise linear functions space defined over the discretization of the
domain. Finally, several numerical examples are presented in order to asses the accuracy and the range of application of the developed method.
