ADMOS 2019

The 9th edition of the International Conference on Adaptive Modeling and Simulation (ADMOS) took place last week in El Campello, Spain. All the AdMoRe ESRs had already attended the previous edition of this conference, which took place in Italy in 2017. That was for most of us the first opportunity to attend and present our work in an international conference.

In this last edition, on top of attending and presenting our work, we had the pleasure of organizing the minisymposium “Model Order Reduction and Application to Industrial Problems”. Thanks to the many contributions received, the minysimposium was a success. It was split in three sessions and there were numerous talks on different applications of model order reduction techniques (PGD, POD, RB…) to industrial challenges, which resulted really interesting for the conference audience.

From my point of view, it was also a great opportunity to realize about the great progress we have made in the last couple of years. Looking back at the previous edition in 2017, it was evident to me the great improvement that all of us (ESRs) have achieved both in presentation skills and specially in terms of scientific knowledge, which is now much broader.

Furthermore, we had the great opportunity to listen to some of the best researches in this research area, with special mention to the plenary lecturers, Professors Antonio Huerta, Victor Calo, Fredrik Larsson and Karen Veroy-Grepl.

The conference presented also a great opportunity to meet again numerous colleagues and increase our network. Furthermore, the organizers did a really good job organizing some social activities which made the conference even more enjoyable and enhanced a bigger interaction among all attendees.

For all ESRs it was an absolute pleasure to attend ADMOS2019!
